Just finished perfecting my desktop setup - for now. Ideally I’d like to have my MBP hooked up to a 30″ Cinema display, but its hard to justify the price for it. So for now, I’ll stick with what I have:
- Macbook Pro 2.4 Ghz Penyrn base model
- Custom Built PC - 2.16 Ghz C2D, 2GB ram, 8800GTS 640mb, 150gb Raptor
- Monitor on the left is 19″ Gateway widescreen hooked up to PC
- Monitor on the right is HP 17″ square hooked up to Mac
- Synergy is used so that I only need 1 mouse/keyboard to control both machines
So I use the MBP for everything but gaming, and I use the PC for gaming. It also serves as another screen for web browsing, so when I’m multitasking I usually browse on the PC. Its a great setup, and I’m sure it’ll last a while.
Oh yea, sorry about the picture, it didn’t turn out to nice. I can never get a good shot of my desktop; it has poor lighting conditions for photography.

Nice setup, I’m thinking about buying a mackbook too, but I’m not sure I actually need it … I can do everything I need on my PC…

Well I think you just answered your own question, Altin. Only purchase something if you need it. If the PC suits you just fine, and it doesn’t give you any problems, stick with it.

Well I now play most of my games on the Mac under Bootcamp. My favorite games like Counter Strike 1.6 & Condition Zero, Diablo 2, etc all run like a champ on the MBP. I’m a fan of older games - COD4, Crysis, etc no longer cut it; they can’t beat the gameplay on CS:CZ.
