I hate having a month missing out of my archive, so I’m just posting this to put something in for the month of December. Life is pretty hectic right now, and there is way to much to write about. Here are cliff notes:

Moving out in a week
Starting to get this make monies online thing
Still not making enough to justify not having a day job

So my goals are to get enough income (diversified income that is) to where I can just work on shit at my dorm, study, and party at night instead of working in a restaurant at night. And in typical PPC.bz fashion:

School has been kicking my ass lately, and my online work has suffered. I’ve found some interesting shit browsing the web in between classes, and I thought I’d drop a few links. Some of these sites are GOLD mines full of information, some you’ve probably never heard of (or have heard of), and some are just funny. Check it:

GlowLeaf.com - Fellow named ‘Glowleaf’ at Wickedfire writes about a ton of interesting topics on his blog. There are some real gems to be found on the site.
Aminology.com - I forgot how I stumbled across this site, but there is some really great information to be found here.
PPC.bz - Founded by some fucking smart asses over at Wickedfire, this blog is full of shit. Good for a laugh or too, and there is some hidden information behind all of the sarcasm; the ironic thing is that the owners/authors are pretty damn successful online.
Blackhatworld.com - At first glance the forum seems like its chalk full of DigitalPoint idiots, however if you dig deep you’ll find some excellent topics that will really get the creative juices flowing.
SlightlyShadySEO.com - Run by a guy under the alias ‘XMCP’, he really knows his shit. Every post he makes is badass. If you don’t subscribe to any of these guys’ feed readers, you at least need to bookmark XMCP’s site.

Month of October

My network basically consists of only 1 website at the moment which earned around $160 last month. I use to have around 4 decent sites, but they all died off as I lacked in promoting them and developing them. Most of my time has been dedicated to college, and my part time job is starting to consume more time because of a lack of employees. I’m thinking it might be my time to go as well.

The new plan is to expand my network with a few more sites based around the same formula as the site that made ~$160 last month. I finally got hold of some capital to invest in link building campaigns, so everything should work out pretty well. The only think I’m worried about is putting all of my eggs in one basket - most of these websites will be getting a majority of their earnings from one source of advertising. I guess I’ll just look at it as milking as much income as I can before I get shutdown, not that I’m doing anything sketchy. You just never know what could happen.

I decided to build some quality sites, since that is what worked best for me. As you’ll see, my list of sites on the bottom of my sidebar is no longer there. I’ll keep you guys updated on what goes on.

2 Year Anniversary!

Oops, forgot about the date. On July 7, 2006 I registered the domain JamesH.us which started off my career in internet marketing. JamesH was the domain of my first portfolio, and then my first blog. Today is July 26, however I’m using the Wordpress time slip feature to create this post in the ‘past’ because I’m 19 days late. Congratulations to me!

Quick Network Update

Coupon.nu is making money. Considering the fact that I did nothing as far as promoting it is pretty cool. BSG is also making some money, so thats cool. I’m done with both. I’m just going to let them sit, age, and see how things go.

What’s next? I’m working on a splog network (around 100 blogs, maybe 1000 I’m not sure yet) and I plan to start on the Lexus site. I might throw up a few more phpBay sites. I’m also working on an affiliate campaign. That is all for today.

BuyShotGlasses Quick Update

Ugh, should I just write this off as another failure? I’m getting a steady flow of traffic (more like trickle at 30 page views a day), but I’m not making any cash. In total I’ve made around $5 but I spent around $50 to get that money. $25 was spent on Adwords as an experiment to see if the site would convert. Well it did, and thats where I got a majority of my earnings. I’ve earned about $1.50 with organic shit. Damn this is annoying.

Good news is I’m advancing around 10 positions in the SERPs each day for my main search term. I originally wasn’t anywhere to be found for the term ’shot glasses’ but yesterday I was at position 173, today I’m at 161. So time will tell if I’ll rank decently. I spent $25 on some SEO work that focused on that keyword and got me around 100 backlinks (and counting), so I hope it will carry me to the first page. Doubt it though, competition is pretty stiff on that first page.

So, why am I bitching? I’m making some cash, I should just repeat this process and build more sites and over time the site will increase in earnings because its only about a month old. Well, I spent $25 (didn’t really need to spend the Adwords money so count that out) to make $1.50 in a month. Hopefully I’m being really impatient; are there any experienced guys out there can comment on this?

I also started an affiliate campaign, and I’m getting ready to build some more sites today. Acquired a few domains for cheap, along with the two car sites that I need to build. I’ve got plenty to do this week. Expect a more thorough update this week.

New Home, New Domain, New Design!

Welcome to the official launch of my new site! I was previously hosted on JamesH.us, but I decided to get a more professional domain. This place exists to keep my thoughts on business organized in 1 easy place. I’ll also be updating you guys on my various projects and attempts at starting my own businesses.

The domain JamesHume.com was taken by some 75-year old chap. My goal with this site is to quickly out rank him (which shouldn’t be to hard) and hopefully acquire his domain. The design is from Adii over at Premium News Themes. The customizations came from Digit over at Talkfreelance.
